What is the E-2 Investor Visa?
The United States has trade agreements with many countries. If you have one of these nationalities, you are a candidate to obtain the E-2 Investor Visa.
This visa is designed to allow entrepreneurs to invest in a commercial business in the United States, and thereby be able to move to the U.S. to monitor their investment, accompanied by their family.
The E-2 Investor Visa allows the investing family to travel freely within and outside the country, grants a work permit to the spouse and enables children to attend U.S. schools, colleges and universities.

Who qualifies and how long is the E-2 Investor Visa valid for?
The investor and his or her family (spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21) may live and work in the United States for the duration of the investment, which varies by nationality, but it is usually 4-5 years on a renewable basis if the business remains active and complies with its business plan.
